Since 1974, long before I became licensed in massage and certified in bodywork, I was a client. I know firsthand how these therapeutic modalities release pain, even the intense and burning pain caused by inflammatory conditions such as bursitis and tendonitis. In the mid '80s, I learned about my pain and my body from a bodyworker. The therapy enabled me to release pain, continue with my physical activities, and feel happier too. This was immeasurably better than the drug therapy prescribed by an orthopedic physician several months earlier.
